You really can have dozens of people put hundreds of hours of work into a groundbreaking device that has photographed an extremely mysterious phenomenon for the first time in human history and people still aint gonna be satisfied huh

Okay but it really isn’t that great…

You see the first photo we had of Pluto? You see the most recent photo of Pluto? Shit took 20 years to get a good photo, like idk about you but I’m glad they showed that photo in 1994 instead of just waiting until we got a better one in 2015. When we have the ‘bad’ photo along with the good one we get to appreciate how far human achievements have progressed. I’m excited to have seen the black hole, and I’m excited for the newer photo we’ll get in a couple decades to compare it to.

Visually it’s ass but in the scientific community this photo is an absolute masterpiece

The bitch is 58 million light years away in a different galaxy and you thought you’d get the same quality of photo as if you were snapping a pic of your Starbucks coffee for insta?????
